The road running season kicked off in earnest in October with hundreds of thousands of Europeans taking part in many of the major city marathons taking place throughout the world. 

UKA is pleased to announce that Charlotte Purdue and Gemma Steel are included in the eight women nominations for the European Athlete of the Month Award for October, organised by European Athletics. 

The voting will close on Monday 21 November at noon CET. 

The European Athlete of the Month initiative was launched in January 2007 and is designed to recognise outstanding performers at all levels of the sport in Europe.
