Following consultation with throwers on its World Class Performance Programme, British Athletics has made a performance based decision to withdraw from The European Throwing Cup in Romania on 12-13 March, opting instead to favour late spring events where competition conditions will be more favourable.  

Peter Stanley Head of Field and Combined Events said “2016 is a massive year for our WCPP throwers and it was felt that focusing on targeted events later in the spring offers greater quality competition opportunities for those aiming for Olympic qualification, whilst also introducing developing athletes and their coaches to valuable and appropriate event experiences.”
