Northern Athletics Indoor Meeting, Sheffield, 6th December 2014
Seren Bundy-Davies (Stephen Ball), who earned her first senior GB&NI call-up at the European Team Championships this year, set a new women’s Welsh 600m record with a time of 1:28.11.
The world youth leader over 200m outdoors this year Thomas Somers (coach: Geoffrey Barraclough) started his winter indoor season off in fine style with a 300m indoor personal best of 33.44 at the EIS in Sheffield.
Other notable results included a new lifetime best for Nikita Campbell-Smith (Toni Minichiello) in the 300m recording a time of 39.81 and Karla Drew (Minichiello) ran 8.38 in the 60m hurdles.

Birmingham League Division One, Abington Park, Northampton – Saturday 6th December
Phil Wylie led a Cheltenham one-two at Abington Park in the second race of the Birmingham League series. He beat his club mate Graham Rush to the win with Jack Gray (Nick Price) representing BRAT in third. James McMurray (Deborah Steer) was the first junior man to finish in the race in seventh for Loughborough University.

Midlands Women’s League, Northampton – Saturday 6th December
Scottish Commonwealth representative Laura Whittle (George Gandy) was in good form to claim the victory ahead of Nicola Sykes in round two of the Midland’s women’s league. Laura Gent (mick Woods) claimed the third place on the day for Aldershot Farnham & District.

Hampshire Cross Country League, Basingstoke – Saturday 6th December
Alexander Teuten (Roderick Lock) took the victory in Basingstoke to win the men’s race by twenty-four seconds for City of Portsmouth. Joe Wade (Geoff Watkin), whose brother Tom was selected for the senior men’s team for the European Cross country Championships last week, was second behind Teuten, as his Aldershot Farnham & District team won the team competition on the day.
Carmen Sanchez-Toribo was victorious in the women’s competition as the Winchester & District finished ahead of Lauren Hall (Keith Donkin).

West Yorkshire Cross Country League, Nunroyd Park, Leeds – Sunday 7th December
Ilkely Harriers’ Thomas Adams took a convincing win in Guisley over Kim Critchley. Alex Bell (Aaron Thomas) won the women’s race with Katie Walshaw (Kath Farquhar) of Holmfirth Harriers closely behind for second place.

Scottish East District Cross Country, Dundee – Saturday 6th December
Former European Cross Country team member Morag MacLarty (Derek Easton) continued Central AC athlete’s good recent form with victory in Dundee ahead of her team mate, Jennifer Wetton (Easton). Murray Strain won the men’s race.

Scottish West District Cross Country, Linwood – Saturday 6th December
Tewoldeberhan Mengisteab ran out as the winner for Shettleston over the cross country course in Linwood. Michelle Sandison won the women’s race representing Springburn.
