Sophie Hitchon (Blackburn Harriers & AC) broke her junior hammer record again with 60.73m.

Brett Morse (Cardiff AAC) threw the U20 discus 60.46m to go fourth on the All-Time list.

Philippa Roles (Swansea Harriers) achieved the Olympic B standard, in addition to her A mark at last weekend’s Loughborough International, with her 60.28m throw.

FBK Games, Hengelo, NED -24/5/8

800m athlete Jenny Meadows (Wigan AC) and 400m runner Lee McConnell (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) both achieved the Olympic B standard in respective times of 2:00:64 and 51.66. McConnell with a match record.

EAP International Meeting, Palafrugal ESP – 24/5/8

 

Robbie Grabarz (Bedford & County) set a new pb of 2.26 to go second on the Power of 10 Rankings with the best outdoor mark of the season.

European Champion Clubs Cup, Vila Real POR – 24-25/5/8

 

Sale Harriers/City of Manchester won Group B of the European Champion Clubs Cup.

Top performer was Andy Turner (Sale Harriers) with wins in the 110m hurdles – 13.72 and 200m – 21.18.

 

Bupa London 10k

Mo Farah (Newham & Essex Beagles) finished third in 28:39.

 

CAU Championships

 

In light of the terrible weather conditions it is remarkable to report a new British record. Johanna Jackson (Redcar Race Walkers) broke the 3k Walk record with a time of 12:40:98, knocking almost 10 seconds off the previous best.

 

Jade Johnson (Herne Hill Harriers) hit 6.45m in the long jump aided by a 3.0 wind.

 

Theme Bouvet-Bionda, Thonon-les-Bains, FRA – 24-25/5/8

Larry Achike (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) opened his 2008 season with a 17.00/-0.4 performance in the triple jump.

China Open – Beijing 22-25/5/08

 

David Weir (Unattached) took victory in a close fought race over 5000m on Saturday evening. He was first British athlete to compete in the Bird’s Nest Stadium recording a time of 11:16:96. Tracey Hinton (Cardiff AAC) won the T11 200m at the China Open on Sunday in a season’s best 26.82 seconds, she already has the UKA qualifying standard in the 100m, 200m and 400m.

 

 

Daniela Jutzeler Memorial meet, Ibach Switzerland

 

 

There were impressive performances from Shelly Woods (Blackpool & Fylde), Brian Alldis (St Edmunds Pacers) and Mickey Bushell (Birchfield Harriers). In the 5,000m, Woods finished in 11:31:24, a new pb and under the UKA qualifying time. Alldis achieved the UKA standard for Beijing for the first time in the 5000m, he clocking 10:15:84.

 

Mickey Bushell continued his great run of form, setting two more British records. He clocked 15.54 seconds over 100m, just four hundredths of a second outside the UKA qualifying standard for Beijing and in the 400m, he set a time of 53.73 seconds.

Juniors

 

Freya Jones (Team Southampton) broke the U15 Girls javelin record with a new pb of 42.96m in the Southern Championships.

 

In the Northern U17 Championships Shaunna Thompson (Sale Harriers Manchester) took a 100/200 double with 11.70 (12th on the All-Time list) and 23.44 (6th All-Time list).

 

In the NJAL seventeen year old Curtis Griffith-Parker (Cambridge Harriers) also completed a great double with 62.34m with the U20 Discus (2nd All-Time list) and 18.03m U20 Shot (10th All-Time list).
