London U15/U17 Games Lee Valley, January 23

Kai Jones (Coach: Lukasz Barzyk) went top of the McCain Power of Ten (POT) Under 15 shot rankings with 14.54.

Reuben Arthur ran 7.27 in the U15 60m to go third in the 2011 POT rankings

Mitchell Everidge (Coach: Kevin Hughes) cleared 4.16m in the Pole Vault to go second in the U17 rankings..

Four Villages Half Marathon, Helsby, January 23

Michelle Ross Cope (Coach: Bud Baldaro) won in a time of 74:29 to go top of the POT women’s half marathon rankings while Neil Renault did likewise wit victory in the men’s with a time of 65:55.

Welsh Championships, Cardiff, January 23

Alison Rodger (Coach: Mark Proctor) heads the Power of Ten women’s shot rankings after a 15.57m victory.

Adam Carpenter (Coach: Christian North) fifth place vault of 4.75m puts him top of the Under 20 rankings. Lucy Brian (Neil Winter) finished third in the women’s pole vault and her 3.90m leap goes top of the U17 rankings while Samuel Gordon went first in the U17 POT rankings with a 7.08 clocking in the 60m.

Loughborough Open, January 22

World and European champion Jessica Ennis (Toni Minichiello) showed great form in three events and went top of the McCain Power of Ten 60m hurdles with victory with 8.03, her second best ever time and she left Olympic finalist Sarah Claxton (Lloyd Cowan) almost  3 metres in arrears as the runner-up timed 8.31 to go third in the rankings.. In the second series of races, which Ennis missed, Claxton significantly improved to time 8.21 to strengthen her hold on third with Sarah McGreavy (Roger Walters) going fourth with her second place in 8.28.

Ennis also went top of the long jump rankings courtesy of a 6.16m victory over Ireland’s Aviva World Trials and UK indoor champion  Kelly Proper and set a big personal best in the shot of 14.61m, which moves her to fourth in the POT rankings and that placed her second to Amy Hill (Minichiello) who threw 14.87m, 9cm down on her best in 2011.

Bernice Wilson (George Skafidas) set a season’s best in the 60m of 7.21 to improve her second place in the POT rankings.

Villeurbannes, France, January 22

IAAF World Junior Championships bronze medallist Holly Bleasdale (Coach: Julien Raffalli-Ebezant) has started 2011 in tremendous shape and the teenager went top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings with a 4.40m PB clearance which won her the Elite A competition and puts her third on the UK all time senior lists and is a GB Unde- 23 record.

Katie Byers (also Julien Raffalli-Ebezant) also set a big lifetime best and her 4.13m vault puts her top of the McCain POT Under-20 rankings and won her the Elite B competition.

Wuppertal, Germany, January 21

Tom Parsons (Coach: Fayyaz Ahmed) won the competition in a jump off clearing 2.25m to go top of the POT men’shigh jump rankings.
