Weekend Round Up
26 April 2011
Athletes training overseas and at home in the UK made the most of the long Easter weekend with some solid performances, highlights included:
Tommie "Tiny" Lister Classic, Los Angeles, April 23
Andy Turner (Coach: Lloyd Cowan) continued his good early season form with a clear win in 13.39/-0.3 which with the small headwind was probably a superior performance to his top McCain Power of Ten ranking performance 13.37/0.6 of the week before.
His compatriot Gianni Frankis (Coach: Tony Jarrett) was second in 13.90 to go second in the rankings.
There was a tailwind in the women’s 200m helping the 22.85/2.4 win for Abi Oyepitan (Tony Lester) to further confirm her top ranking 23.21/2.0 of the week before and showed she is another in excellent shape for April.
Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu (Lloyd Cowan) clocked 23.49w in third.
