Aside from the European Championships in Helsinki, there was some other athletic meets that took place home and abroad.

In the shot, Carl Myerscough gained his second Olympic B standard of 20.13m to go top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings.

UK Women’s League, Hendon, June 30

Yamile Aldama (Frank Attoh) had her first competition for a month and won the triple jump in a tentative 13.03m.

Nottwill, Switzerland, June 30

The 2002 European bronze medallist Marlon Devonish (Dan Pfaff) ran a season’s best over 200m of 20.64 which puts him sixth in the McCain Power of Ten rankings.

British League, Hendon, June 30

Abdul Buhari (Mark Wiseman) bounced back from his disappointment the European Championships to add three metres to his season’s best and set an Olympic A standard with his 65.24. That puts him equal second in the Power of Ten rankings along with Carl Myerscough.

Brett Morse (Vesteinn Hafsteinsson) and Zane Duquemin (John Hillier) both set Olympic B standards. Morse was a season’s best while Duquemin’s was a big PB and that puts them fourth and fifth in the rankings.

Chris Tomlinson (Frank Attoh) who won the long jump with a windy 7.93m/2.7m and high Jumper Tom Parsons (Aston Moore) equalled his season’s best with 2.25m.

Olympic trials winner Alex Smith (Shane Peacock) had his third best throw of the year with his hammer win in 74.49m.
