Stanford Invitational, Stanford, March 29

Eighteen year-old Zak Seddon went top of the McCain Power of Ten UK senior 3000m steeplechase rankings when he finished second in 8:45.63, early 20 seconds inside the qualifying time for the European Junior Championships.

Elinor Kirk (Tony Houchin) went top of the UK women’s 5000m rankings and took nearly a minute off her outdoor personal best when she was fourth in 16:07.13.

Tina Muir and Katie Clark (Andew Railton) went one and two in the UK 10,000m rankings. Muir finished 14th in 33:24.74 and Clark 17th in 33:36.36. Clark, who is 22 years-old, bettered the British Athletics European Under-23 qualifying mark of 34:00.

Maidenhead 10, March 29

Just five days after she competed for Britain in the Wworld Cross Country Championships in Poland, Emily Wicks (Keith Donkin) won in a PB 56:37 which puts her top of the UK 10 mile rankings.

Self Transcendence 100k inc. British Athletics and Scottish 100km Championships, Perth, March 31

Craig Holgate ran a well judged race to take second place behind Ireland’s Dan Doherty in a new PB of 7.12 .55 and claim the British title.

Emily Gelder was a comfortable winner of the woman’s British Athletics title in 8.16.55 to claim a remarkable 4th successive GB 100km crown.
