Hengelo, Holland, June 8

James Elllington (Rana Reider) went top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings improving his previous best from last week to 20.42(2.0) and he was again inside the World Championships A standard of 20.52.

Charlie Grice (Jon Bigg) took around three seconds off his 1500m PB with a 3:38.13 clocking to put him top of the UK outdoor rankings in 2013. James Shane (Martin Brown) went fourth in the rankings with his 3:38.77 timing, which has only been bettered by his win in the 2011 World Trials and UK Championships.

Michael Rimmer  (Norman Poole), who already has the World Championships A standard, again bettered the B standard with his 1:45.51 fourth place. Rhys Williams (Adrian Thomas) was easily inside the World Championships A standard for the 400m hurdles (49.40) for the third time this season with a 49.09 timing for second.

Anyika Onuora (Rana Reider) improved her time at the top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings with a PB equalling 22.93 (0.6) in fourth place – the third year running she has run that time.

2011 World Championships silver medallist Hannah England (Bud Baldaro) finished third in the 800m in 2:01.42 to go third in the outdoor rankings and she set a World Championships B standard in what was her third race in seven days, whilst Stephanie Twell (Mick Woods) finished 15th in the 5000 metres in 15:37.64 to go third in the UK rankings as she beat the top ranked Katrina Wootton (Harvey Rose), who was just over four seconds behind her.

Turin, Italy, June 8

Tiffany Porter (Rana Reider) was again well inside the A standard for the 100m hudles with a third place in 12.83 (-0.9).

New York Women’s 10km, USA, June 8

Gemma Steel (John Nuttall) finished third in a top class international field in 32:59. She already tops the UK rankings.

Regensburg, Germany June 8

Former World Youth and European Junior sprint champion Jodie Williams (Stanley Madin) won a sprint double in 11.41 (-0.7) and 23.32 (-1.6).

European junior bronze medallist David Bolarinwa (Jonas Tawiah-Dodoo) won the 200m in a PB 20.60 (-0.7) which equalled the World Championships B standard and was inside the European under-23 qualifier.

UK Women’s League Premiership, Edinburgh, June 8

Jane Nisbet (Graham Ravenscroft) helped hosts Edinburgh win the match with a 1.85m high jump to go top of the UK rankings. Meghan Beesley (Nick Dakin) followed up her World Championships A standard in the 400m hurdles last week with a win in 56.43, her fastest ever time on a British track.

Exciting junior prospect Dina Asher-Smith (John Blackie) gained a 11.80/23.84 sprint double into strong headwinds.

Rabat, Morocco, June 8

Britain’s second ranked 400m runner of 2013, Nigel Levine (Linford Christie), finished  third in the 400m in 45.86, while Martyn Rooney (Rana Reider) was fourth in 46.00, his fastest time of 2013 to go fifth in the McCain Power of Ten rankings.

UK Women’s League Division 1, Southampton June 7

Reigning IAAF world youth champion at 200m, Desiree Henry (Stanley Madiri) ran a legal personal best 100m of 11.65/1.2  and better the European Junior standard of 11.75.

She also won the 200m in 23.42w, but the wind was over the legal limit at 4.5mps.

British Athletics League, Premiership, Manchester, June 7

Sebastian Rodger (Stephen King) won the 400m hurdles in a personal best of 50.04 to better the European under-23 standard of 50.70.

Rodger also won the 400m in a personal best 46.89.

Bydgoszcz Cup, Bydgoszcz, Poland, June 7

Britain’s second ranked hurdler of 2013, Serita Solomon (Llloyd Cowan), was close to her best this year in the 100m hurdles with a 13.30/-0.4 third place time.

NCAA Championships, Eugene, June 5-8

Lorraine Ugen (Frank Attoh) had her greatest ever victory when she won the National Collegiate title with a personal best 6.77/1.9.

The mark is  a world Championships A standard (6.75m) and well in excess of the European under-23 qualifying mark of 6.50m.

Freya Jones (Don Babbitt) also produced a surprise result, winning the javelin in a personal best 54.95m, and like Ugen, went second in the McCain Power of Ten rankings.

She just missed the European Under-23 qualifying standard of 55.00m.
