Ribble Valley 10K (including Northern Championships)

Jonny Mellor (coach: Steve Vernon) secured an impressive victory in a time of 29:12 in the men’s race. Sunday’s result sees Mellor replace Mo Farah at the top of the Power of 10 rankings for 2013.

The Liverpool Harrier was followed by Callum Hawkins (Robert Hawkins) who clocked 29:36 and Daniel Studley (Thomas Watson) with 29:48.

In the women’s race, Georgia Taylor Brown (Paul Roden) emerged victorious on her 10k debut, clocking a time of 33:34. Nicola Duncan was second with 33:47 ahead of Rebecca Robinson with 34:02.There was also a return to competitive action for Helen Clitheroe (John Nuttall), who finished in a time of 34:09.
