Weekend Update

05 December 2011

With the focus on this Sunday’s European Cross Country Championships (Velenje, Slovenia – 11 December), there wasn’t too much international action this weekend from British athletes but there was plenty of League activity.

Fukuoka Marathon, Japan, December 4

Andrew Lemoncello (coach: Greg McMillan) failed in his bid to achieve the Olympic Marathon qualifying time in this famous race which was being held for the 65th time, when he ran 2:24:31 to finish 31st. At halfway he was on for a quick time with 65:39, but after 30km he was struggling with a hamstring problem and took over 13 minutes longer on his second half.
