Apart from the McCain UK Cross Challenge at Bristol, Britain’s endurance runners also showed good form on the roads.
BMW Frankfurt Marathon, Frankfurt, October 28
Scottish cross-country champion Derek Hawkins (coach: Lawrie Spence) made an encouraging marathon debut to finish 18th in 2:14:04 to go second on the McCain Power of Ten rankings for 2012.

BUPA Great South Run, Portsmouth, October 28
Jo Pavey (Gavin Pavey) carried on her sensational 2012 form which has seen her gain two Olympic top eight placings to win in 53:00, which puts her top of the UK 10 mile rankings.
Jess Coulson (Mick Woods) finished second in 53:43 to go second in the rankings and finish just ahead of former world 10,000m champion Berhane Adere.
Gemma Steel (John Nuttall) finished a close fifth in 53:57.
Pavey’s fellow Olympic finalist Julia Bleasdale (Nic Bideau) finished ninth in 55:37 at her 10 mile debut.
Andrew Lemoncello finished fifth in the men’s race in a personal best 47:08 to be the leading Briton and go top of the men’s UK rankings.
Jonny Mellor (David Evans) finished seventh in 47:35 to go second in the rankings.

MAAC Cross-Country Championships, Orlando, USA, October 27
There was a British one-two-three in this College Championships. Mitch Goose (Tim/Pauline Ash) won in 24:08.08 from Matthew Gillespie (Amanda Gillespie) on 24:21.12 while Daniel Clorley (Tony Simmons) was third in 24:26.01.
