Weekend Update

While in cross-country terms the main focus was on the McCain Antrim Cross Challenge, there was plenty of indoor action this weekend.

 

Scottish Universities Championships, Glasgow, January 12/13 

Allan Smith (Coach: Bryan Roy) improved his PB to 2.22m to set a Scottish native record.

Midland Countied Open, Birmingham, January 12/13 

Tom Parsons (Aston Moore) cleared 2.17m to go second in the McCain power of Ten rankings for 2013.

 

Isabel Pooley went top of the women’s high jump rankings with a 1.82m victory.

Northern Championships, Sheffield, January 13 

Greg Beard (Mark Chapman)  set a personal best of 18.59m to go to the top of the UK shot rankings and achieve a distance that only one Britain bettered throughout 2012.

 

Jamie Williamson (self-coached) set a PB in second with 18.29m yo go second.

Orleans, France, January 12

 

Olympic finalist Holly Bleasdale (Dan Pfaff/Scott Simpson) made a great start to 2013, by winning this international event with a world class 4.62m to go top of the world rankings.

 

Sally Peake (Scott Simpson) achieved her second best ever vault with 4.37m.
