Phil Wicks went top of the McCain power of Ten 10 mile rankings with his 49:21 win.

Midland Open, Birmingham, February 17

AAA under 17 and English Schools pole vault runner-up Adam Hague (Coach: Trevor Fox) went top of the 2013 under-17 rankings with his 4.85m PB.

Serita Solomon (Lloyd Cowan) set a substantial PB in winning the 60m hurdles in 8.16 to go third in the McCain Power of 10 rankings. Sarah Claxton (Martey Newman) was second in 8:19. The British athletics qualification standard for the European Indoor championships is 8.10.

North East Counties Championships, Gateshead, February 17

Richard Kilty (Linford Christie) won the 60m in 6.62 to go fourth in the 60m rankings. The British athletics qualification standard for the European Indoor championships is 6.60.

Millrose Games, New York, February 16

Chris O’Hare (Steve Gulley) smashed the Scottish indoor record and went second in the UK all time list when he finished fourth in a top class mile in 3:52.98. He went top of the McCain Power of Ten rankings and his 1500m time was recorded as 3:37.25, which is well inside the British Athletics 3:42.00 qualifying standard for the European Indoor Championships.

Boston, February 16

Richard Peters (Mike Down) set a personal best mile and won in 3:56.04 to go second in the 2013 mile rankings and seventh in the UK all time lists. Welsh Cross-Country Championships, Crickhowell, February 16

There were wins for Dewi Griffiths (Kevin Evans) and former English national winner Andrea Whitcombe, who is now 41.

South of England Championships, Parliament Hill Fields, February 16

The men’s race was won by former English National winner Frank Tickner (Clive Thomas) The women’s race saw a win for European under-23 team member Lily Partridge (Mick Woods) over her training partner and former world junior 1500m champion Stephanie Twell (Mick Woods).

British Students senior champion Emelia Gorecka (Mick Woods) won the under-20 race to follow up her win in the Edinburgh International.

Reiging national under-15 champion Bobby Clay (Pete Mullervy) won the Under 17 girls race from her older sister and defending champion Alex.

Newham Sprint Open, February 13

British 100m record holder Montell Douglas (Daniel Naphtali) set a 60m PB of 7.25 to go second in the 60m rankings and her time is inside the 7.30 British athletics UK indoor standard..
