Zacup Skyrace, Italy, 15 September

British international Georgia Tindley (Hunters Bog Trotters) ran one of the races of her career to finish fifth at the Skyrunner World Series in Zacup. With over 2650 metres of ascent within the race, Tindley finished in a time of 3:33.45 to earn her first ever top five finish in the series.

Muller Para Track Grand Prix, Kirkby, 14 September

In the inaugural meeting co-organised by Paralympians Hannah Cockroft and Nathan Maguire, several athletes competed for the final time before selection for the World Para Athletics Championships.

Cockroft (Jenni Banks; Leeds) competed against double T53 world champion, Sammi Kinghorn over a variety of distances, with the Scottish athlete narrowly taking the 400m in a time of 57.10s to 57.80s. Over 800m, it was similarly tight, Kinghorn again taking it 1:59.16 to Cockroft’s 1:59.62.

In a highly competitive men’s T54 800m, Richard Chiassaro (Jenni Banks; Harlow) came out on top winning in a time of 1:41.99 while Nathan Maguire (Ste Hoskins; Kirkby) was close in pursuit in 1:42.57. Dillon Labrooy (Jenny Archer; Weir Archer Academy) was third in 1:43.00, edging ahead of Danny Sidbury (Christine Parsloe; Sutton & District) in 1:43.02.

Libby Clegg (Joe McDonnell; Charnwood) continued her return to competitive action in the ambulant 100m, clocking 13.81 (+0.4) in her first outing over the distance since 2016.

Elsewhere, Paralympic bronze medallist Andrew Small (Rick Hoskins; Stockport) clocked 17.6s (-0.1) in the T33 100m.

Drei Zinnen Alpine Run, Dolomites, Italy, 14 September

World mountain running medallist Sarah Tunstall (Kendal) won the penultimate stage of the World Mountain Running World Cup in the Dolomites with a fantastic performance over the 17 kilometre course with 1300 meters of uphill climbing. She pipped the Irish athlete Sarah McCormack to the victory, winning in a time of 1 hour 41 minutes and 45 seconds, nearly five minutes ahead of her nearest challenger.

In the men’s race, Andrew Douglas (Sophie Dunnett; Inverclyde) was fifth overall in this race, but confirmed victory in the overall World Cup series as he now has an unassailable lead at the top of the rankings. In the race itself, Douglas was in a battle for third overall as the eventual top two Petro Mamu (ERI) and Joseph Gray (USA) moved away early on. Douglas finished in 1:27.48 for fifth.

TGW Lentos Jump, Austria, 12 September

Adam Hague (Trevor Fox; Sheffield & Dearne) and Charlie Myers (Chris Boundy; Middlesbrough Mandale) both cleared 5.43m as they finished in fifth and sixth place respectively in the men’s pole vault.

Hague cleared the height first time before passing his second attempt at 5.53m, but missed both opportunities to clear 5.63m. Fellow European Under-23 Championship finalist Myers by comparison required a third round effort to clear the height but did not go higher, bowing out with three fouls at 5.53m.
