Weekend Update

10 March 2014

Whilst most of the weekend’s focus was on our six medal haul at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, or the British Athletics Cross Challenge Final in Birmingham, there was still plenty more action across the country.

Welsh Athletics International, Cardiff, March 8/9

David Omoregie (coach: Mike Guest) continued his fine indoor form to smash his British under-20 record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.50 seconds. At the time it was thought to be a World Junior record but later word came through that a French athlete had run two hundredth’s quicker just thirty minutes before.

Her jump also eclipsed the Scottish Indoor record set by Jayne Nisbet (Graham Ravenscroft) just last month at the Sainsbury’s British Athletics Indoor Championships and puts her joint second on the Power of Ten rankings.
