WEEKEND UPDATE

Percy Pud 10k, Sheffield, 3 December

Eilish McColgan (Liz Nuttall) rounded out a memorable 2017 season with victory in Sheffield, finishing an impressive second overall behind winner Andrew Heyes (Steve Vernon). Having broken the course record in 2016, McColgan had set herself a great benchmark, which she revised by ten seconds, crossing the line in 32:32 minutes. That time on a tough, undulating course was just half a minute down on her best. Local lad Heyes achieved a similar feat in the men’s race, as he took 15 seconds off the course record with an impressive 29:42 winning run.
