WEEKEND UPDATE - 6-8 MAY

BWAA Grand Prix, Stoke Mandeville, 7-8 May

Sammi Kinghorn (coach: Rodger Harkins, club: Red Star) went inside the world records for the women’s T53 100m and 200m at Stoke Mandeville, and with it secured huge personal bests.

After last securing a PB in the 100m in 2017, she moved to 16.11, slicing 0.10s off her previous best. In the 200m, she clocked 28.50 which was an improvement by 0.11s from her PB from 2017.

Elsewhere, Hannah Cockroft (Jenni Banks, Leeds) was in PB shape again as she posted a time of 28.59 to lower her best, which was the unofficial world record of 29.27.

Due to the meeting not being WPA approved the times won’t be ratified, however, these revised personal bests will be attacked again by Kinghorn throughout the 2022 season.
