In this two part series, British Athletics physiologist Barry Fudge and Andy Jones host a physiology workshop. In particular, they discuss training at altitude and how this fits into the yearly training cycle.

Anatoliy Bondarchuk: Heavy Throws Q&A

Dr Bonarchuk discusses the changes in the soviet system through the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and how research he did during that time helped him develop his system of training in Heavy Throws.


Triple Jump Roundtable Discussion

British Athletics Head of Coaching and Development Peter Stanley and John Crotty (National Coach Mentor for long jump) present a roundtable question and answer session for the horizontal jumps. Participants include triple jump world record holder Jonathan Edwards, Ben Williams, former world silver medallist Jadel Gregorio and joint British long jump record holder Chris Tomlinson. The questions asked cover many aspects of training, preparation and competition.


George Gandy: Coaching 5k and 10k (part 3)

In the third and final part of this video presentation, George Gandy continues to discuss the physical qualities and training principles for the 5,000m and 10,000m events, and how to put these principles into practice. Gandy, who has over 40 years of experience in the sport, has long been recognised as one of the UK’s top endurance coaches and has worked with athletes such as Seb Coe, Jon Brown and Jack Buckner from his renowned Loughborough University coaching base.
