WORLD LEAD FOR WHITEHEAD OVER 400M

Richard Whitehead (coach: Keith Antoine) went sub 50 over 400m for the first time in his career to set a world best in the T61 class in Leverkusen.

Whitehead ran 50.26 over the distance in Nottwil last weekend, then the fastest time he had ever produced over the distance, but he exceeded that this time, clocking a remarkable 49.84 for victory.

With the 41 year-old continuing to challenge himself, his hard work to develop over the lap distance appear to be paying dividends as he continues to improve his personal best.

Elsewhere, Luke Sinnott (Roger Keller) leaped 6.01m in the T61 long jump, a season’s best for the fourth-placer at last year’s World Para Athletics championships.
