World University Games - Days 1,2 & 3

The cream of British student athletes are competing at the World University Games in Bangkok from 9 August. A team of more than ten UK athletes will compete against students from across the world at the event in Thailand that runs until 14 August.

Bangkok 2007 will be the 24th World Student Games, or ‘Universaide’, which began in Warsaw in 1924 and are held every two years. Participants must be aged between 17 and 28 and be studying for a degree or diploma, or have graduated within the last 12 months.

GB team’s head coach Callum Orr said:

“The level of competition in Bangkok will be extremely high and the experience will be good for the long term development of our athletes who are looking forward to Beijing, London and beyond.”
