Zara Hyde Peters Heads To British Triathlon

14 December 2007

UK Athletics has today announced that Zara Hyde Peters is leaving to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of British Triathlon.

UK Athletics’ Director of Athlete Development will take up the post on 1 March 2008.

She said: "It has been a huge privilege to work in athletics for the last seven years – however I will still be competing for my club and will still feel I am part of the sport. I am looking forward to the challenge offered by my new role as Chief Executive of British Triathlon. Leading an Olympic sport in the current British sporting climate is a fantastic opportunity."

UK Athletics Chairman Ed Warner said:

"It has been my pleasure to work with Zara for the past year. Through that period she has been very supportive in her role as executive director on the UKA Board.

"Zara has been highly committed to both UK Athletics and also the sport of athletics. During this period of restructure for UKA, she has placed her own interests behind those of the sport.

"We wish her all the very best in this new role."
