Officials Conference

18 March 2010

In keeping with the continuous investment in the officiating pathway UKA has declared April as Month of the Official to tie in with the 7th Annual Officials Conference taking place on Sunday 18th April 2010.

Based on the theme ‘Do Computers Bite? – An overview of the use of Technology in Track & Field and Endurance Athletics’ the theme for this year’s event is the use of technology within officiating and highlights a number of areas across the officiating spectrum, where technology is being used and can be further developed according to discipline and level of competition.

UKA’s Head of  Competitions and International, Cherry Alexander said:

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer this fantastic programme of officiating seminars for this year’s conference, and we want to make April a month-long festival of officiating related news, information and highlights via the UKA website and E-Inspire magazine.

“There will be a comprehensive package of conference related material available for all Officials to draw upon, as well as articles based on some of our top officiating personalities over the coming weeks.

“Again we will be issuing an E-Inspire special for officials in the early summer, ensuring we are providing our officiating ranks with the latest news and features as well as highlighting the key points from April’s conference.”
