REGISTER AS AN APPROVED UKA ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE
WHAT IS AN ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE?
An athlete’s representative is any individual who advises or assists athletes in the planning, arranging and negotiation of their athletic competition programme. UK Athletics will not recognise an Athlete Representative who has not registered with UK Athletics.
It is a requirement for Athlete Representatives working with athletes to register with UK Athletics. Athletes may only use approved UKA Athlete Representatives operating within the sport, in accordance with UKA Rule 7 S 1. UK Athletics promote professional standards, best practice and high standards of representation of British and Northern Irish athletes.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A REGISTERED ATHLETE REPRESENTATIVE WITH UKA?
All Athletes’ Representatives will have their details listed on the UKA website within the Media section unless instructions are sent not to do so. Athlete Representatives will also be provided with an ID card. The validity of a license is 5 years, after this period it must be renewed.
All Athletes’ Representatives will be entitled to apply for accreditation to Televised and non-televised athletic events. Accreditation is not an entitlement and seating will only be provided within the designated athlete seating. Access to the warm up arena will be at the Meeting Director’s discretion.
TO APPLY
There is currently no charge to register a UK Athlete Representative. However, it does involve a rigorous application process. The applicant must submit a completed application form to UK Athletics Competitions Department. The application which must be approved by the Director of Major Events/ Chief Executive. If successful, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check is required. If the result of the DBS is satisfactory and confirmed by the UK Athletics Welfare Manager then approval will be issued.
