Mountain Running

The 2018 international Championships, and their trials, are as follows:


World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships - 24 June 2018, Karpacz, Poland

Trials: 28th April 2018, Three Peaks Race 


European Mountain Running Championships (Up & Down) - 1 July 2018, Skopjie, Macedonia

Trials: 2nd June 2018, Southern Howgill Fells, Sedbergh  


World Mountain Running Championships (Uphill) -  15 September 2018, Andorra

Trials: 5 August 2018, Skiddaw, Keswick 


Mountain Running News

The British Athletics Mountain Running Challenge

The 2018 Mountain Running Challenge will consist of the following races: 


19th May - Inter-Counties Championship (Lads Leap) 

2nd June - The British Athletics Mountain Running Championships incorporating the Senior Home Countries International & the trial for the European Mountain Running Championship (up & down) (Sedbergh) 
 
5th August - Trial for the World Mountain Running Championship (uphill only) (Skiddaw, Keswick)


Prize money will be awarded to the leading men and women in each individual race plus the overall series (best 2 races to count). 

Inter Counties Championships 2018

The senior event will be held at the Lad’s Leap race in Derbyshire, on Saturday 19th May 2018.

The junior event will be held as part of the Up the Nab race in Derbyshire, on Saturday 30th June 2018

 2018 British Athletics Mountain Running Championships

incorporating the

European Mountain Running Championships Trial races (Senior & U20)

and the

 Home Countries International (Senior).

 

Location: Southern Howgill Fells above Sedbergh.

 

There will be two combined races, as follows:

12.00pm:    Junior Men’s and Junior Women’s Race. 5.3km, 380m ascent/descent

1.00pm:      Senior Men’s and Senior Women’s Race. 10.6km, 760m ascent/descent

 

World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships Trial

Event: Three Peaks Race, Horton in Ribblesdale - Saturday 28 April - 10:30am

2018 British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships incorporating Home Countries International

The four races for the British Fell Running Championships 2018 are as follows:

Short: Sat 9 June – Tal y Mignedd, North Wales

Medium: Sat 14 April – Mourne Highline, Northern Ireland and Sat 1 Sept – Ben Nevis, Scotland

Long: Sat 23 June – Darren Holloway Memorial Buttermere Horseshoe, Cumbria

 

The British Athletics Fell and Hill Relay, sponsored by Pete Bland Sports, will be held on Saturday 20th October at Grasmere, Cumbria.
