ATHLETICS PRIDE NETWORK INCLUDED IN GLOBAL DIVERSITY LIST 2020

The Athletics Pride Network, supported by UK Athletics, has been included in the Global Diversity List – LGBT+ Employee Network category.

Launched in April 2020, the Athletics Pride Network (APN) is an initiative to make our sport safe and welcoming for people within the sport who identify as lesbian, gay, bi, trans and other sexual orientations and gender identities (LGBTQ+), and their allies, and it represents  athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and administrators.

As the leading LBTQI media group in Europe, DIVA Media Group released the annual Global Diversity List in The Guardian newspaper last week. The inclusive and important list celebrates the people who tirelessly to ensure that diversity and inclusion are at the heart of everything they do. It represents the gold standard of equality, diversity and inclusion, and as such can be considered a well-earned accreditation.

On the accolade, Equality, Diversity and Engagement Lead at UK Athletics, Donna Fraser, said:

“We are so proud to see the Athletics Pride Network featured in the Global Diversity List in the LGBT+ Network category. The APN members have worked so hard to expand the Network since its launch in April, and we are delighted to receive this recognition for our achievements so far.

“We have many exciting developments on the horizon, including the hosting of four ‘Meet the APN’ webinars over the next month, so we hope to connect with many more people across the Athletics family in the months and years ahead.”

UK Athletics, in conjunction with the Athletics Pride Network and the Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) will be delivering a series of webinars. Find out more information, here.
